Jain Studios net spurts to Rs 2 crore
Jain Studios has posted a net profit of Rs 2.05 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2000, as against Rs 2.89 lakh in the corresponding period of the previous year. The net worth of the company has improved to Rs 42.81 crore, up from Rs 18.09 crore. Gross fixed assets increased from Rs 11.37 crore to Rs 21.26 crore. The return on capital employed increased from 1.64 per cent during 1998-99 to 11 per cent during 1999-2000.Haryana CM to mop up investments

Thomas Cook posts net of Rs 3.6cr
Thomas Cook(India) Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 3.627 crore for the quarter ending September 30,2000 as against Rs 3.586 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.The income from operations was Rs 19.488 crore as against Rs 16.803 crore in the corresponding periodlast year.
Scooters India to negociate deal
Public sector, Scooters India Ltd (SIL) has begun negotiations with Furnow Technologies of Australia for strategic partnership to manufacture electronic auto components in the country. "We are negotiating with Australia-based FurnowTechnologies for technological collaboration for manufacturing electronic auto components," SIL's chairman and managing director (CMD) AGM Sahay said at the sidelines of the Industrial Show -2000 being held here.
Indica to be launched in Europe
Tata Engineering will soon launch its premium small car `Indica' in the European market and said the company may look at alliances and product swaps to compete with global automobile majors. Bangalore-based Karunai Group will set up "KSS Home Pro," a chain of super markets for building material and home products across the country over the next three years with an investment Rs 400 crore to Rs 500 crore, the company's managing director, K Karunakaran said. The project aims to provide comprehensive options ofbuilding materials and allied services covering the widest range of building industry material and home products from top brand manufacturers, both National and international at lowest prices, he said.
