TN to export more onions 

 
Chennai, Oct 11: The Tamil Nadu government has asked Nafed to procure more onion directly from farmers in the state for exporting. The Union Government had recently permitted Tamil Nadu to export 50,000 tonnes of onion in addition to the one lakh tonnes permitted earlier.

TN had earlier been allocated 20,000 tonnes for export and 7,500 tonnes have been procured so far.
