Three players converge to form The Broadband Hub
Call it convergence. Leading players in convergent technologies and broadband network -- Alopa, Amber and Ishoni Networks -- have jointly set up base in Bangalore and named it `The Broadband Hub'. The three cos have collectively raised $250 mn from Wall Street firms and venture capitalists.

Oracle's VC arm to enter India
Database daddy Oracle Corp's venture funding arm is soon going to be in India to invest in technology companies. With a corpus of $500 million, the fund had restricted its activities to the Silicon Valley thus far.

India is expected to export embedded software worth $100 million to Japan during 2000-01, according to Nasscom president Dewang Mehta.
