Kerala Tourism Website now in French and German

Our eFE Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Tourism has launched its Website (www.keralatourism.org) in French and German which are translations of the official Website in English.

The French and German versions were introduced to attract more tourists from the two countries, according to Mr V Venu, director of Kerala Tourism.

Of late, Kerala Tourism has been receiving large trade and travel information from these two European countries, Mr Venu added. On the anvil is an Italian version of the site which is likely to be launched soon, according to Tourism secretary, Mr Amitabh Kant. The contents of the English version is not entirely available on French and German versions, however, care has been taken not to miss the important elements.

Keralatourism.org is recognised as one of the best Websites in India and is listed in most of the important search engines. The site has 1.2 million hits, one lakh page views and an average of 45,000 visitors per month.

The newly instituted bulletin boards enable any tourist/traveller to post any queries. The bulletin board can also be utilised by tour operators and tourism entrepreneurs to put their latest offers or projects, among other things.

Keralatourism's series of 10-second, 20-second, 30-second TV promos through international channels such as Star TV featuring the message `Kerala has been chosen by National Geographic traveller as one of the best destinations in the world ...", had evoked good response in the industry according to Mr Amitabh Kant. The series directed by noted film maker Mr Santosh Sivan is now shown on Air India international flights, he added.
