Bridgestone-ACC India gets new head
RADIAL tyre maker Bridgestone ACC India Ltd (BAIL) on Monday announced appointment of Shinichi Matsunaga as new managing director with effect from September 1, 2000. Matsunaga was the director, sales and marketing of Bridgestone/ Firestone, East Africa, before his current appointment, a company statement said in New Delhi. Matsunaga replaces Hiroshi Tsuchiya, who retired from services after a four-year tenure as director-technical, and thereafter as the second MD of BAIL, it said.Goldstone to focus on software
The board of Goldstone Engineering has considered the recommendations of Price-waterhouseCoopers on corporate restructuring. The company will now focus on software business. The telecom division will now be a separate company called Goldstone Teleservices. The company will issue one equity share of Rs 4 each fully paid-up free of cost for every share held in Goldstone Engineering, the company notified the BSE.
Hariharan is LG Soft India director
LG Soft India, the Bangalore-based software services company and the global IT subsidiary of the $73 billion LG group, has announced the appointment of P Hariharan as director, engineering for LGSI. Samtel's CTV unit goes on stream Samtel India Ltd's colour monitor manufacturing plant at Pondicherry, with a capacity of one million monitors per annum, has begun production. The plant was formally inaugurated by Pondicherry chief minister P Shanmugam. Samtel's multimedia division's CEO Arindam Ganguli said the new plant will help the company service its customers better since major OEM customers are located in nearby regions. Moreover, 60 per cent of the branded market is located in south and west.
beroi opens resort in Mauritius
The Oberoi group has extended its reach to Mauritius with the opening up of a luxury resort spread in 20 acres of lush tropical gardens in the Turtle Bay at Balaclava on the north-west coast of Mauritius. The resort two royal villas, 26 luxury villas, 16 of which feature their own private swimming pool, and 48 terrace pavilions have been built.
