Mumbai, Oct 23: Honda Siel and Maruti Udyog the highest at 115 in the customer satisfaction survey, four index points better than the industry average, according to the JD Power 2000 India Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) announced on Monday. MUL improves its position by three index points while Honda Siel's CSI score declined by six index points.MUL leads the industry on service advisor and service performance while Honda Siel maintains its industry-leading performance on problems experienced and service timings. General Motors, Daewoo, Mahindra, Ford, Fiat and Telco rank below the industry average in 2000 CSI rankings respectively. General Motors has, however, maintained the 1999 CSI scores.
CSI study, in its fourth year in the Indian market, examines customer satisfaction with vehicle quality and dealer service in 12-18 months of ownership. The factors determining customer satisfaction in order of importance are problem experiences, service advisor, service performance, service timing and facility appearance JD Power Asia Pacific director Chris Bonsi said, ``MUL improves consistently and it is the only manufacturer to have remained above the industry average since 1997.
In contrast, Honda Siel maintains its top ranking in CSI despite dropping by six index points and the dominant lead that Honda established in 1999 has helped it retain the top ranking in the 2000 study.'' ``MUL is also the first marketshare leader to rank highest in a JD Power customer satisfaction study worldwide. This is a remarkable feat for any manufacturer with a large customer base and reflects Maruti's continuous efforts in working with their dealers to improve customer satisfaction.
