Mumbai : SABe TV has slotted its game show, Jab Khelo Sab Khelo, in the afternoon time band to target female and elderly audiences and avoid confrontation with Star Plus' Kaun Banega Crorepati and Zee TV's Sawaal Dus Crore Ka in prime time.The show will be launched on October 30 and will be aired at 1.30 pm, five days a week. The one-hour programme, to be telecast between Mondays to Fridays, will have Shekhar Suman as the host.
Children aged below 15 will not be allowed to participate in the show. Nine prizes will be given away daily, amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh. The maximum prize that can be won is Rs 1.25 crore.
SABe TV is also launching its Internet site, sabetv.com in November. The site will have a two-minute video streaming and provide information about the channel. The distinctive feature will be the chat shows with comp cameras which will enable surfers to watch their film star's picture online while chatting with them. "We will be marketing the channel through the Website," said Suhas Bade, director, SABe TV.
SABe TV is issuing 1 lakh tickets every day through its call centres. Participants will be given a ticket identity and each ticket will have different structured numbers. There will be a combination of prizes. Ernst & Young will certify the entire process. "We have received 10 lakh calls in 10 days for the game show. We have the dial-in centres in Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore, Pune, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana and Nagpur.
Apart from the full house ticket, a new format will evolve each day. "We will have a five-day grid. Every day Mr Suman will come out with a new format which could range from `word of the day' to `triangles', said Mr Bade.The channel will run promos for three days beginning October 25 by Mr Suman to educate the viewers on the game show. A special software is being developed for winners to view their names on the television screen immediately.
SABe TV will use the game show to develop the afternoon band for the channel, between 1-4 pm. Four shows will be introduced in November, two of which will be re-runs. "We are introducing them as afternoon programmes. We are looking at re-runs from our library like Shriman Shrimati and All The Best. Besides, we will have two new programmes which could be in the genre of drama and suspense," said Mr Bade.
The channel will introduce in November and December five hours of new content in prime time. SABe TV will also have a mythological on Sunday mornings. "Our first focus was on distribution. We tied up with Turner International and reach out to 14 million homes. We will now concentrate on content and aim at a few programmes to drive the channel," said Mr Bade.
