Orbit-e Consulting gets $9.25 m from Warburg Pincus
Orbit-e Consulting, an international digital strategy and systems integration firm, on Wednesday announced that it had recently received early stage capital from EM Warburg, Pincus and Co. Warburg Pincus has invested $9.25 million in Orbit-e. This is one of Warburg Pincus' largest investments in an IT services start-up worldwide.

Sify launches international satellite gateways
Satyam Infoway has launched its first international satellite gateways in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, in partnership with Singtel. Satyam Infoway is currently building 17 gateways in 13 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, Jamshedpur, Lucknow and Bhopal.

Cognizant Technology opens software development centre
Cognizant Technology Solutions Ltd has opened its own software development centre in Pune, as part of its expansion plan. It is the company's first owned facility in India. Over 400 software professionals will be working at the Pune facility, which will provide solutions for e-business and telecommunication segments.

Bangalore-Stockholm mooted as `twin IT cities'An Indo-Swedish partnership roundtable on Wednesday initiated an innovative move to declare Bangalore and Stockholm as `twin IT cities' aimed at creating a framework for more institutionalised mechanism to promote cooperation in Information Technology between the two countries.
