LCC Infotech sets sights on doubling turnover

Our eFE Bureau
Calcutta : LCC Infotech Ltd, one of the largest information technology training organisations in India, is aiming for a turnover of over Rs 100 crore and the addition of 1,000 training centres in the current fiscal.Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, managing director Ms Kirti Lakhotia, said, "We are well on the target this fiscal. We performed far beyond what had been expected of us when we started out this year. In the first half, we achieved a turnover of Rs 38.29 crore and the rest could be achieved in the second half. Last year too, our first half turnover was Rs 13.41 crore and we ended the year with Rs 52.74 crore."

The company has forged an alliance with Linux Technologies of the US, expanded its network in Bangladesh, set up a centre in the Indonesian capital Jakarta and tied up with Sambalpur University of Orissa. "The fruits of all these endeavours will get reflected in the second half results," Ms Lakhotia said.

She said that LCC has tied up with Sambalpur University to impart training for its post-graduate diploma in information technology (PGDIT) programme. The study programme is open to students from any part of the country."The demand is so great that we are now contemplating to offer PGDIT programmes in all the major cities in India. This arrangement will have a big impact on the third quarter results," she said. The company now has a total of 783 centres.

Speaking of tie-up with Linux Technologies, LCC's director Sidharth Lakhotia said Linux has imparted training rights on Aryabhatt Linux, the Indian Linux version. LCC is also a vendor of the version.
