Padmini Technologies has reported a 228 per cent spurt in net profit to Rs 10.02 crore for the first quarter ended September 2000, up from Rs 3.05 crore reported for the corresponding quarter of last year. Turnover for the quarter stood at Rs 100.6 crore, up 27.6 per cent from Rs 78.84 crore reported last year.SQL's net profit goes down by 22%
Web-based software developers, SQL Star International Limited, on Wednesday reported a 21.95 per cent dip in net profit at Rs 11.3 crore (Rs 14.48 crore) for the third quarter ended September 2000. Sales revenue grew by 23.59 per cent to Rs 120.88 crore (Rs 97.80 crore) during July to September 2000. The net profit for the period of nine months ended September in the current fiscal came down by 3.12 per cent to Rs 33.41 crore (Rs 34.49 crore), it said.
Shalimar Paints Q1 net up to Rs 0.31 cr Shalimar Paints Ltd posted a net profit during the first quarter ended September 30 this year registering a marginal increase at Rs 0.31 crore against Rs 0.29 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal. Profit before tax had come down to Rs 0.31 crore from Rs 0.33 crore last year and net profit was down as the company had made a provision of Rs 0.04 crore last year for taxation which was not made this time.
Mirc net falls 14% in Q2
The board of Mirc Electronics Ltd, manufacturers of Onida brand of Televisions's net profit fell by 14.27 per cent to Rs 8.59 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2000 as against Rs 10.02 crore for the period in the previous year. It's net sales were up by 7.61 per cent to Rs 196.72 crore (Rs 182.80 crore), a company statement said. Its other income shot up by 268 per cent to Rs 1.29 crore (Rs 35 lakh). Expenditure in Q2 stood at Rs 184.27 crore (Rs 164.74crore).
Padmalaya Telefilms posts Rs 3.5 cr net
Padmalaya Telefilms has announced its results for the three-month period ending September 30, 2000. The company has reported a net profit of Rs 3.5 crore and a sales revenue of Rs 10.4 crore for the period. Padmalaya has commenced commercial operations for its 2D Animation Studio.
Havell's Q2 net jumps 140% to Rs 1.97 cr
Havell's India has reported a 140 per cent spurt in net profit to Rs 1.97 crore for the second quarter ended Septmber 2000, up from Rs 0.82 crore reported last year. Turnover during the year was up 76 per cent from Rs 24.93 crore to Rs 43.89 crore.
Visheh Infosystems Q1 net up 100%
Visheh Infosystems has reported a 100 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 1.66 crore for the first quarter ended September 2000, up from Rs 0.83 crore reported last year. Revenues during the year rose to Rs 6.03 crore from Rs 3.62 crore reported during the corresponding quarter of last year. For the year ended July 2000, Visheh reported a net profit of Rs 5.02 crore on a turnover of Rs 15.49 crore.
Alps Ind net up 34% to Rs 2.6 cr
Alps Industries Ltd has reported a 34 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 2.66 crore for the second quarter ended September 2000, as against Rs 1.99 crore reported in the previous year. Net sales grew by 22 per cent to Rs 27.47 crore for this period from the previous year's figure of Rs 22.40 crore. Net profit for the first half ended September 2000 grew by 54 per cent to Rs 5.22 crore as compared to Rs 3.39 crore in the previous year.
Nedungadi Bank net dips to Rs 6.5 cr
Nedungadi Bank recorded a net profit of Rs 6.59 crore (Rs 8.18 crore) for the first half ended September 30. Operating profit stood at Rs 9.88 crore as against Rs 14.03 crore in September last. Aggregate business of the bank was Rs 2381.16 crore. Deposits base showed 27.88 per cent growth at Rs 1555.28 crore. Total income went up to Rs 107.80 crore from Rs 90.46 crore.
Out of this, interest income constituted Rs 97.53 crore. Total expenditure, on the other hand, increased to Rs 97.91 crore from Rs 76.44 crore.
SB&T net rises 74% to Rs 3.7 cr
SB&T International, a 100 per cent EOU has reported a 74 per cent increase in its net profit for the six month period ending September 30, 2000. The net profit stands at Rs 3.7 crore against Rs 2.13 crore for the corresponding period last year. Total sales for the period registered an increase of 75 per cent to Rs 53.33 crore.
Aksh Optifibre reports Rs 2.8 cr net
Aksh Optifibre has reported a net profit of Rs 2.84 crores for the quarter ending September 30, 2000. Total sales for the period stands at Rs 32.98 crore. The company has received an order from Jaipur high court to merge with Telecords (India) Pvt Ltd.
Snowcem H1 net grows 19% to Rs 8.7 cr
Snowcem India has registered a 19 per cent increase in its profit for the six month period ending September 30, 2000. The net profit for the period is Rs 8.75 crore. Total sales for the period increased by 21 per cent to Rs 70.52 crore.
Infar posts 89% jump in net in Q3
Infar India Ltd has posted an 89 per cent increase in net to Rs 6.08 crore during the third quarter ended September 30, 2000. The higher other income and lower expenditure saw anincrease of 82 per cent in profit before tax (PBT) for the third quarter over the same period last year.
Kirloskar OIl Engines net up to Rs 8.5 cr
Kirloskar Oil Engines (KOEL) has made a net profit of Rs 8.52 crore during the quarter ending September 30, 2000. KOEL has improved its top line with sales and operating income going up by 18.81 per cent during the quarter.
For the half yearly period the company has registered a 10.8 per cent growth with sales and income from operations going up to Rs 365.79 crore(Rs 329.77 crore).
Kirloskar Brothers net jumps 130%
Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) has registered a 130 per cent jump in profits for the quarter ended September 30, 2000. Profits during the quarter have gone up to Rs 3.5 crore (Rs 1.52 crore). Profit for the half year is Rs 4.47. Net sales and income from operations has gone up to Rs 108.59 crore from Rs 83.47 crore.
Elbee records Rs 58 lakh net
Elbee Services Ltd, one of India's leading express companies, has recorded a net profit of Rs 58.15 lakh as against a net loss of Rs 86.83 lakh in the corresponding quarter the previous year. Turnover was up from Rs 30.4534 lakh in the second quarter of last year to Rs 39.6061 lakh to the corresponding quarter this year.
Jindal Vijayanagar Steel net at Rs 8.8 cr
Jindal Vjayanagar Steel has recorded a net profit of Rs 8.82 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2000. The company had reoprted a loss of Rs 34 crore in the same quarter last year. Sales stood at Rs 350.67 crore an increase of 76 per cent as against Rs 199.27 crore in the same period last year.
