Juhi Chawla to endorse Nakamichi's SoundSpace21

Our Marketing Bureau
Mumbai : Leading hi-fi audio/video and multimedia equipment manufacturer, Nakamichi India, an Indian subsidiary of Tokyo-based Nakamichi Corporation, has launched SoundSpace 21 - the flagship of the SoundSpace series of home theatre products.

Nakamichi has appointed actress Ms Juhi Chawla as the brand ambassadress. The advertising campaigns will be kicked off by November-end. Like SoundSpace 10, SoundSpace 21 comes complete with AN A/V turner/processor with built-in dolby digital surround sound processing circuitry and Nakamichi's 5-disc musicbank DVD/CD changer.

However, unique to the SoundSpace 21 are the four speakers (front left/right and surround left/right) that comes complete with their own motorised `speaker-track' system allowing the user to select the vertical angle to best suit the viewing or listening position.

Priced in the range of Rs 45,000 to Rs 8 lakh, Nakamichi products will be available through three exclusive franchises in Mumbai-Crossroads (Haji Ali), Twist Electronic (Khar) and Vijay Sales (Opera House) in Mumbai. The company has four franchises in Delhi too.

Says Nakamichi India COO Mr Anil Khera: "The company plans to expand the number of franchises in Mumbai to 10 by the end of 2001. It expects to achieve sales of Rs 70-80 crore in the first year of operations."

In 1994, beginning with an adaptation of its DVD changer musicbank CD changer, Nakamichi introduced CD-changer for the computer industry in the range of Rs 45,000 to Rs 3 lakh each. The car audio system is likely to cost between Rs 19,000 and Rs 90,000 each.
