Peak XV Networks to set up $4 m facility in B'lore

Bangalore-based Peak XV Networks Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based Peak XV Networks Inc, has plans to invest $4 million in a state-of-the-art infrastructure facility in Electronic City. The company will also open an interoperability lab at an investment of $5 million by next year. Speaking to The Financial Express, Peak XV Networks managing director, Mr HN Deepak said, "the main focus of the company is to help existing legacy systems adopt the e-commerce model. We facilitate Internet connectivity through networking implementation, upgrading existing models and enhancing bandwidth." The company has plans to shift the testing, modelling, simulation and certification of all the network projects to its Indian operations after the interoperability lab is opened next year.Peak Networks also has plans to set up an in-house call centre on the lines of its US office. This would provide customer support to all its global operations. The training centre in India is equipped with networking hardware to simulate, model and deploy next generation networking solutions. The centre will provide Cisco certification training on broadband and high-end networking, trouble-shooting and remote access and scalable networks. The company has conducted on-campus interviews in 30 engineering colleges across Karnataka to recruit 70 engineers for a 4-month training two-level Cisco certification program -- Cisco Certified Networking Associate and Cisco Certified Networking Professional. After the accreditation, the engineers will be absorbed by the company and placed overseas. The entire certification process costing $850 per engineer is borne by the company. Besides this the students are paid a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month. Peak XV Networks, Inc USA is projecting revenues of $10 million this fiscal and is aiming to touch $16 million next year.
