Nortel commits $1 m for schools'Net-enabling
Nortel Networks has announced a $1 million-commitment - through the Nortel Networks Foundation - to Internet-enable schools in the South Asia region. This educational initiative, organised and managed by Schools Online South Asia region chapter, involves networking and providing computers for some 100 schools, 60 of which are in India. An additional $1.5 million for the project has been provided through individual contributions.E-governance hailed at Lotus Forum
Lotus Development president and CEO AI Zollar told an audience of global technologists that the era of e-government has arrived. In his Keynote address at the third annual Lotus Global Government Forum, Mr Zollar cited examples of new and evolving e-government applications.
Silverline-SeraNova entity to be operational by Jan
The merged entity of Silverline Technologies Limited and SeraNova Inc is expected to become fully operational by January 2001 and the merged entity likely to have new name, according to Mr Shankar Iyer, president of STL.
