New Delhi, Nov 5 : A steady trend was noticed in the local leather market during the week under review when prices of both raw and treated leather, moving in a narrow range on lack of buying interest, settled around the previous week's closing levels.According to marketmen, absence of any worthwhile order from the leather exporting units also kept the prices quiet.
In the raw leather section, goat-salted and unsalted skin prices of 30X40 inches held steady at Rs 105-110 and Rs 125-130 while sheep-salted and unsalted quoted unchanged at Rs 175-185 and Rs 205-215 respectively.
Turning to treated leather section, all prices in Rs. sqdm: goat suede traded at Rs 2.00-6.00 or 4.00 lot, napa Rs 1.50-3.50 or 3.00 lot, sheep napa Rs 1.50-4.25 or 3.50 lot and buff leather at Rs 25-70 per sq ft respectively.
