Mr Caprihan will also take over as the CEO of the post-merger entity. Products and services available at Windows2Shop.com will now be available under the Jaldi.com umbrella brand.

According to Mr Caprihan, "My decision to join Jaldi.com as the CEO, and to merge Windows2Shop.com with Jaldi.com was based on the practical realities of complementing Jaldi's established presence in the market and technological strengths with retailing experience."

Mr Caprihan also brings with him, 30 years plus experience in both online and offline retailing. His previous professional assignments include senior marketing and management positions in Kelvinator, Whirlpool, and Samsung India Electronics.

"There is a lot of synergy between the two companies. While, Jaldi.com does not have a good delivery model, Windows2Shop has a 90-dealer strong retailing network, which along with the rest of the assets will now be a part of Jaldi.com," he added. Till now, angel investors have invested Rs 8 million in Windows2Shop, which had started its operations in Feburary this year.

However, Mr Caprihan was not willing to disclose the financial considerations or the post merger equity status of Jaldi.com, which was taken over completely by KLG only two months. "None of the current employees of Windows2Shop will be retrenched, since the site will continue to operate under the Jaldi.com umbrella," he added. Both Jaldi.com, which was started in November 1999, and Windows2Shop.com, which was started in Feburary 2000, were set up with the objective of doing away with the inefficiencies of the traditional shopping experience, by empowering the consumer with information to help him make an informed purchase decision.
