Indiawithin.com in talks with HDFC for online payment gateway

Padmaja Shastri
Chennai : Indiawithin.com, the travel portal promoted by Mumbai-based Nush Technologies Pvt Ltd, is in talks with HDFC for the facility of an online payment gateway. It has already tied-up with the CRS company, Galileo India, for online reservations. According to Mr Vishal Gokani, director of Indiawithin.com, the portal is likely to finalise its tie-up with the bank to accept credit card payment in a month's time. At present, the payment mode for e-commerce on the portal is only through cheque or demand draft, he said. In fact, many Indians are still uncomfortable about using their credit card for online purchases for security reasons and prefer more traditional modes of payment, he added.

The portal is also planning to open offline offices in Delhi, Bangalore and Goa to cater to the clients in these regions. Apart from this it is also taking part in travel fairs/exhibitions across the country and abroad, apart from online and offline advertising, for promoting the portal. The travel portal, launched in August this year, offers services like package tours, bookings for hotels and airlines, etc. It focuses on detailed information on various holiday destinations, including their history, local culture, religion, cuisine, fairs and festivals, photo-gallery, things to buy, places to visit and stay, climate, etc. It also has a unique feature that allows e-mailing of any of its pages. Best deals are wangled by the site for its customers on all types of holidays that are tailored according to one's budget, travel and stay requirements. Next month, the company is also announcing its `Book-as-one' scheme, whereby individuals can get together and form groups of 10, 15, 20 and so on.. on its site andavail the higher discounts offered for group tours.

For instance, if the best deal offered for individuals is 30 per cent on a hotel stay, in the `book-as-one' scheme, they can get up to 50 to 60 percent discounts, say company officials. The portal gets its revenues mainly from commissions on the packages booked and banner advertising.
