Doordarshan has won the Asiavision annual award for the best news coverage for this year. The citation lauded DD for its coverage of the Orissa cyclone in 1999 and the drought and floods in different parts of the country this year. The CNN-sponsored award is given for the best news coverage. The award is meant for Asian countries and was announced in Manila, Philippines.

ESPN Star Sports quiz for school kids today
ESPN Star Sports, a sports TV network, is organising a Sports Quiz for school children on Monday at Talkatora Stadium. The quiz, which will begin at 9.30 a.m, will involve 150 schools from Delhi.
