Hyderabad, Nov 15: In his continuous pursuit for excellence, technology and investments, Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Mr Chandrababu Naidu, has identified various sectors for collaboration with France and asserted that in the future, all technology summits will be held in Hyderabad.The possible collaboration areas with France will be in space technologies, tele-medicine, tele-education, waste management, power generation, transmission and distribution, mass rail transportation and bio-technology, Mr Naidu told the French delegation, who were participating in a three two-day Technology Summit-2000, organised by the CII here on Tuesday.
While elaborating on the potential Andhra Pradesh possessed in various fields, he invited the delegation to invest in infrastructure projects such as industrial parks, hardware parks, apparel parks, water supply, distribution of natural gas through pipelines.
He also told the delegation that there was vast scope in special economic zones, ports, tourism projects and the most important,IT, and knowledge based industries. He said, the hottest jobs in the future would be tissue engineering, gene programming and pharmacists. AP was open for any sort of information and investment, he said. The state was learning some important technology aspects from foreign countries which it would adopt wherever necessary, he assured the delegation.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Mr R A Mashelkar, director general, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, said that Indo-French scientific collaboration was the best so far. Science and technical knowledge in India is doubling every day, he added.
The dominance of knowledge in the product we manufacture and controlling them is more essential in this part of world, he said. New economy and new technology will make the economy grow at a faster pace. Creating intellectual aspects, human capital,production, distribution and usage of knowledge are more important, he added.
Later, addressing the press conference, Mr Bruno Durieux, chairman of National Committee of Foreign Trade, France, said, the objective is to successfully promote trade between the two countries.
France will offer knowhow in space technologies, waste management, water treatment projects, defence and services, power transmission and distribution and will assist in scientific research, he said.
The opening up of DTH and air traffic will give way for French companies to play a major role in Indian economic growth, he added.
