New Delhi: US-based Centura Software Corporation, known for its database product Gupta SQL, is looking for business partners to promote its products in India. The company was earlier known as Gupta Corporation and was renamed in 1996.The company has recently developed a new wireless middle ware called e-SNAPP and looking for software development companies in India to adopt its wireless platforms for developing their applications.
The company also wish to tie-up with local companies for re-selling its product range in the country. The product range of Centura includes application development platforms, enterprise connectivity solutions and embedded databases.
Centura is currently participating in IT World 2000 being held in New Delhi to initiate the process of setting up the market base in India. According to a company official, "We have come to India to feel the market and initiate talks with companies for the promotion of e-SNAPP in Indian software industry. Centura plans to launch its products in the Indian market in a big way."
Centura e-SNAPP is a real-time solution to provide connectivity dilemmas network server, Web and hand-held computing devices. E-SNAPP facilitate data movement from enterprise data base and applications such as ERP and CRM to hand-helds and information appliances.
The company official said that Centura has also tied up with Compaq to provide its mobile application platform as the enabling infrastructure to deliver enterprise applications to Compaq's latest iPAQ Pocket PC. Compaq will sell e-SNAPP as a bundle with its iPAQs.
Centura integrates its solutions in various business systems worldwide including health care, manufacturing, telecommunications and financial industries for customers such as ADP, Merck, Xerox, Telstra, Singapore Airlines, Deutsche Bank and Southern Company. Centura has 19 offices worldwide, including locations in North America, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
