Sapphire to invest Rs 100 cr in call centres
Sapphire Callnet has entered into strategic alliances with four multinationals and will be investing around Rs 100 crore in the coming years for setting up a nationwide network of call centres. Mahendra Saxena, chief executive officer of Sapphire Callnet, told PTI that the company planned to invest Rs 100 crore to set up 10,000 call centres spread in all regions of India.Sumitomo Wiring Systems sets up IT base at Noida

Pinnacle Systems launches India operations
The video editing solutions player Pinnacle Systems announced on Thursday the launch of India operations and said it might also make India a production base in the near future. Announcing the launch, managing director (Asia) Pinnacle Systems Tawfik Djafari said, "we are today announcing only the setting up of our office in India but do not rule out setting up a manufacturing base here."
Indian IT companies urged to set up base in Holland
Holland requires nearly 10,000 information technology experts and India could fill the shortage, Consular General of The Netherlands JW Knunenburg has said. Addressing a session on `Doing business with The Netherlands', organised by the confederation of Indian industry (CII) in New Delhi on Wednesday, he called upon Indian IT industries to set up units in Holland and consolidate their European operations.
MP to turn Pithampur EPZ into STP
Madhya Pradesh is planning to turn the existing export processing zone in the Pithampur industrial area into a software technology park to attract major information technology players and promote IT in the state. This was stated by MP's minister for industries, commerce and information technology, Narendra Nahata, during an interaction at Indore the other day on the `IT scenario and infrastructure- emerging trends', organised by Optel and the MP state electronics development corporation.
