Indica sales rise 3% in November
Tata Engineering recorded a marginal rise in sales of Indicas in the domestic market for November against the previous month. Sales grew by three per cent to 2,415 Indicas against 2,345 units in October while 138 cars were exported, a Tata release said. Cumulative sales for the first eight months stood at29,715 units while it exported 313 Indicas, the release added. BHEL bags Nalco order Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged an order for a 120 mw thermal power generating plant, valued at Rs 250 crore, from National Aluminium Company Ltd, the eighth successive order from the Aluminium major. The upcoming unit would cater to the needs of Nalco's expansion projects, a BHEL release said.

Samsung bags award
Infotech major Samsung Electronics India, a subsidiary of Korean giant Samsung, has been awarded the `IT peripheral Company' of the year award at the 'Techies 2000' organised by Media Trans Asia Group. "The awards are a testimony to the efforts and continuous investment that Samsung puts in developing state-of-the art products," director, I-T, Mr JS Jong said in a statement.

Gujarat industrialists on fast
About 500 industrialists from different parts of Gujarat on Friday resorted to a day-long token fast in front of Gujarat Electricity Board office in protest against the power tariff hike. The industrialists are demanding abolition of sales tax on electricity and removal of electricity duty.

Prabhat Pani is ITSpace.com CEO

New Pagelink services in 2001
Pagelink has plans to launch a host of new services in the new year and double its subscriber base by the end of the year 2001 from two lakh to four lakh. Pagelink, adjudged the 'Best Paging Service Provider' in the country for the second consecutive year, is the only paging company which provided several value-added services to its subscribers, said a company release.
