Petrochem meet from January 9

The problems and achievements of the country's hydrocarbon industry will be discussed in detail in the 4th Petrochem Conference and Exhibition to be held from January 9, according to chairman of the steering committee MA Pathan. In the conference to be inaugurated by the minister for petroleum and natural gas Ram Naik, 490 papers on important issues in the vital sector of the economy will be presented by experts from all over the globe. For the first time, there will be a special session on the relevance of information technology and how to take advantage of it in the hydrocarbon sector and evolve an alternate source of energy in the petroleum industry to enhance production and productivity, he added.Dr AK Bhatnagar, chairman of the technical committee of Petrochem - 2001, said, besides focussing on traditional spheres, including exploration and production, substantial, time would be devoted to discuss refining, marketing, natural gas, research and development, human resource management and other subjects relevant to the industry.
