Symantec Corporation's merger with AXENT Technologies in a stock-for-stock deal originally announced on July 27,2000 was approved by shareholders today. The merger will be completed when the filing of the merger certificate in Delaware becomes effective. Under the agreement, AXENT shareholders will receive a tax-free exchange, 0.50 shares of Symantec common stock for each share of AXENT common stock they own.

Intel to acquire Network Solutions' consulting group
Intel Corporation on Wednesday announced that its Indian subsidiary intends to acquire the consulting group of Network Solutions Private Ltd of Bangalore, India. The acquisition will add to Intel's growing capability in supporting system integrators and other consultants building e-business solutions based on Intel Architecture and Intel networking and communications technologies. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Tektronix acquires Digianswer Bluetooth protocol analyser
Tektronix, a market leader in the test, measurement and monitoring industry and a member of the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group), has announced an agreement to acquire the Bluetooth Special Interest Group approved protocol analyser product from Digianswer, a subsidiary of Motorola, based in Nibe, Denmark. In addition, the companies will form a five-year partnership to further advance Bluetooth technology and applications. With this acquisition, Tektronix becomes a leading supplier of testing tools needed to advance the implementation of Bluetooth technology.
Cyquator Tech opens data centre
Cyquator Technologies Limited, announced its entry into the Internet space with a launch of its focused Internet Data Centre in India early next year. The company has built infrastructure at Vashi and plans to establish multiple Internet Data Centers (IDC), spanning the entire country to enable companies hosting with them to access both the local and global markets. Cyquator is currently all set to go live with its Data Center at Vashi Infotech Park, New Bombay. This centre is equipped to host 4,000 servers and has a built up space of 20,000 sq ft.
