Mumbai: Chase Capital Partners has bought over Go4i's shares in the career site Go4Careers.com and now holds 51 per cent of the company. This was confirmed by Mr R Suresh, co-founder of Go4Careers.com.Following the split between Chase and The Hindustan Times, HDFC and HDFC Bank-promoted general interest portal GO4i.com, Chase continues to retain its investment in the portal's career section - Go4Careers.com.
Chase has also upped its investment in the site to garner a 51 per cent share in Go4careers. The remaining 49 per cent is held by the promoters of the site - Mr Ajit Isaac and Mr R Suresh. "We continue to be featured as the career section of Go4i but The Hindustan Times no longer holds any stake in the company," clarified Mr R Suresh.
He also added that Chase plans to reduce this holding to about 20 per cent and the remaining shares would be transferred back to the promoters. He was, however, unwilling to disclose the price at which these shares are being bought or sold. The site will continue to be called Go4Careers.com.
Go4Careers was set up last year as a joint-venture between Go4i and Stanton Chase International, the global executive search company. Stanton Chase International which follows a unique policy of working with `partners' the world over is headed by R Suresh in India, who owns the company's operations in the country.
Chase Capital partners which was an investor in Go4i had routed its investment in the job site through Go4i. "We had approached Chase with our idea right at the beginning and they had committed an investment to us which they routed through Go4i and their commitment to us stands despite their split with Go4i," explains Mr Suresh.
Go4Careers currently sees about 200 CV registrations per day according to Mr Suresh. The company recently embarked on a print campaign whereby they advertise top positions in leading financial dailies and invite applicants to get onto the site. The campaign has seen great response according to Mr Suresh.
