Cummins India MD steps down

Mumbai, Jan 15: Cummins India Ltd (CIL) managing director (MD) JL Deshmukh has decided to pursue opportunities within the Cummins group overseas. He has stepped down as MD of the company and resigned as a director of the company with immediate effect.

The board of CIL will meet as scheduled on January 31,2001 to take note of this and the details of Mr Deshmukh's new role will be announced after the board meeting. Addressing the senior team of the company, Mr Deshmukh said, "I have been with CIL/CDS&S for 28 years and enjoyed every moment of it. I am stepping down from my current position in favour of a larger exciting role."
