Suma Informatics to set up Rs 16-crore call centre institute in Hyderabad

Hyderabad : Suma Informatics Ltd (SIL), a company promoted by Suryachakra Power, has proposed to invest Rs 16 crore set up call centre and a training institute at Hyderabad. To establish the project the company has entered into agreements with Business and Technology Center (BTC), USA for training facility and Parsec Technologies India Ltd for Call Center solutions, said Hazeem Sait Vice-president of SIL. He said that the company would set up a 100 seat call center at Hyderabad within four months and planned to expand to 500 seats by end of the year.

While the company will invest Rs 14 crore towards the call centre, the remainder will be used for the training institute, he added. The training center will impart training to 30 candidates per year in the areas of customer care representation and call center management programme. Besides participating in the training programme through its faculty and consultants, BTC will also award certificates to the successful candidates, said Mr Sait. According to industry estimates, the call center business is growing at a rate of 20 per cent per annum. It is reported $700 billion as on 1997, Mr Sait said. Till now, the company has invested about one crore and the entire cost of the project will be funded by the promoter Suryachakra Power, he added.
