Hyderabad sees B&L optometry school

Hyderabad, Jan 19: ThE $2-billion eyecare company, Bausch & Lomb has set up the `Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry' at Hyderabad in association with LV Prasad Eye Institute on Wednesday. The school was inaugurated by Bausch & Lomb Inc senior corporate vice-president and president of Asia-Pacific John M Loughlin on Wednesday.Speaking to the press, Mr Loughlin said for the first time, the company has funded to the tune of $1 million for infrastructure in this school. The school will provide a four-year degree level course in optometry and a two-year diploma course for ophthalmic technicians with international standards. To be situated on a five-acre campus in Kismatpur, the school will have state-of-the-art equipment and ensure world class training to the students, Mr Loughlin added.
