Kozhikode, Jan 19: State Bank of India (SBI) is planning to install 20 more ATMs in various business centres of Kerala in addition to the four already functioning in the state. SBI Kerala circle chief general manager SK Hariharan told the media persons here that an ambitious business strategy has been drawn up for the bank in the State.The main thrust will be given to provide better service to the customers through efficient IT infrastructure. As part of it, the bank will soon interconnect 50 branches. With a total network of 228 branches, SBI is having the highest number of branches in the state.
According to Mr Hariharan, the IT policy of the bank envisages fully computerising the remaining branches in a short time. He also disclosed that 20 off-site ATMs will also be installed in different centre so that customers will be able to access their accounts for withdrawals with out coming to the branches. Among the main areas of focus of the bank in the state will be information technology and tourism.
