The government on Friday approved 49 proposals worth Rs 796 crore forforeign direct investment (FDI) including that of the UK-based Taj Telephone& Cable Ltd for venturing into the telecom sector and Caltex LubricantsIndia Ltd for setting up infrastructure projects.
