FIIs invest Rs 2,927 cr in 18-day period

Mumbai, Jan 21: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers for the period of 18 days ending January 18, 2001 with investments of Rs 2,927.1 crore, which is nearly half of its total investments in the year 2000.FIIs were net buyers with investments of Rs 1,018.7 crore for the week ended January 18, 2001. Their investments in equities were Rs 1,055.5 crore and they were net sellers in debt with outflows of Rs 36.8 crore. Mutual funds (MF) made buyers in the market for the week ended January 18, 2001 with net investments of Rs 131.78 crore against an outflow of Rs 205.38 crore last week ended January 11, 2001. They were net sellers in equities with an outflow of Rs 17.55 crore and net buyers in debt with net inflows of Rs 149.33 crore.
