Phoenix Global to offer ASP, TSP models for insurance sector

Bangalore : Phoenix global Solutions (India), a fully owned subsidiary of the US-based Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company (PHL), is set to introduce ASP TSP (total solutions provider) BSP (business service provider) models of its back office, life insurance administrative system in the Indian market. The models are expected to work as a `virtual call centre.' According to the company's managing director Satish Bangalore, this model will help companies to bring down the costs considerably. He said the company would focus on customer acquisitions across the globe. Recently, Phoenix Global bagged two - six-month each - work contracts in Oman and Argentina. It has tied up with National Life Insurance of Oman to support and develop state-of-the-art life insurance systems. In Argentina, the company will develop investment management system for a pension fund firm.

"In both the places, Phoenix Global Solutions will have onsite development centres," Mr Bangalore said. Speaking on the occasion, Phoenix International Capital Corporation president John C Herndon said the company might partner with the US mutual fund firm, MetLife in India. In the country, Phoenix Global will also focus on general insurance, asset management and banking solutions. Phoenix Global Solutions is a part of the US-based Phoenix Home Life Mutual Insurance Company which manages an asset base of $70 billion.
