KPAMC plans to offer customised content

Mukta Malhotra
Mumbai, Jan 21: In yet another first in the mutual fund (MF) industry, Kothari Pioneer Asset Management Company (KPAMC) is working towards personalising its services on its website by providing investors with customised content. The details of the content are being discussed and the service would be operational within two quarters.

What is being envisaged is this: the fund's website would recognise a user as a separate individual and give customised content relevant to him.

Speaking to The Financial Express, KPAMC's head (national sales and distribution) Ajay Bagga said, "It would be on the lines of My CNN."

The user would have to register with the website. But before the registration, he would be asked to fill a form about his preferences based on which he would get to view a customised page whenever he logs into the site. The fund's in-house IT team is working on the project.

According to Mr Bagga, the MF would also be entering into strategic alliances with different websites for providing the services. The fund is also tying up with a number of banks for electronic clearing services.

The fund would also soon provide a separate micro site providing financial tips for women with sections for working women, young women and household woman. Says company vice-president (marketing) Prem Khatri: "We are trying to develop micro sites for special interest groups so as to give unique experience based on Internet."
