RK Swamy BBDO to launch new division Proximity

Mumbai : In a strategic move, the Rs 256 crore RK Swamy BBDO, India's seventh leading advertising agency plans to launch BBDO Worldwide's customer relationship management (CRM) division called `Proximity' in India very soon. According to Peter Wilken, regional managing director, BBDO Asia Pacific, RK Swamy & BBDO's key focus areas will be on customer relationship management, interactive and database management in 2001.

Says Mr Wilken: "We plan to establish `Proximity' in India. The services of `Proximity' are currently available in Europe and North America. We now plan to extend this service to India, Singapore and China. In India, we plan to launch a wholly-owned company under the RK Swamy BBDO name."

As for the agency's mergers and acquisition plans in 2001, Mr Wilkin says that RK Swamy & BBDO are open for right partnerships in India. "As part of our key growth strategy, we are looking for ideal partners in India."As part of its Internet initiative, HansaVision, promoted by RK Swamy (51 per cent) and BBDO Worldwide (49 per cent) is all set to launch an entertainment portal "HansaZone.com" on March 15 this year. At present, HansaVision is in the process of developing the entertainment portal which will initially provide information relating to television programming and feature films, informs HansaVision manging director Mr Srinivasan K Swamy. Explains Mr Swamy: "Our objective is to provide complete listing for all the channels intended for India specific audience. "

HansaVision has been in the business of television programme production and marketing since its inception in 1986.
