Satyam to implementi2 Technologies solutions

Chennai : Satyam Computer Services Ltd has entered into a strategic partnership with i2 Technologies to implement latter's products. The two companies would also engage in joint marketing of the solution in the Asia Pacific region, said Mr GB Prabhat, director, enterprise business solutions, Satyam Computers.

He said that Satyam would make significant investments in fostering the partnership. About 110 consultants would be trained in i2 implementation. Revenues through the alliance are expected to be sizeable. Mr Prabhat declined to specify the quantum of investments or the revenues expected. Satyam would also act as a premier education partner for i2.

The revenue sharing arrangement between the companies is simple. i2 would get the product licence revenues while Satyam would get implementation revenues. The ratio of the licence revenues to the implementation revenues is expected to be 1:0.75. Mr Peter O' Connor, general manager, South Asia,says that i2 is bullish on its prospects in India and expects to post exponential growth in the near future in the country. It expects licence revenues of $12-15 million in 2001.

Sify cities offers city guides

  • Satyam Infoway has announced the launch of Sifycities, a new Web channel focussed on Indian cities. According to Mr Raj Raman, vice-president, Sify.com, the Website offers an interactive guide to Indian cities for Net users including information on travel, shopping, essential services, educational institutions besides exhaustive information on restaurants and entertainment. Sifycities is being launched in Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Bangalore. The Website also features digitized maps.
