Genisys Software in alliance with InterX

Bangalore : UK-based Genisys Software has entered into an alliance with UK-based InterX for the later's InterXBladeRunner Internet application platform product family, both on the development and product marketing front. Under the agreement, Genisys will support InterX in areas like customer support, engineering and product marketing both in the Europe and Asia markets. The joint development activity will be managed through Genisys' wholly owned subsidiary in Bangalore -- Genisys Integrating Systems (India) Pvt Ltd. While initially, the development activity would begin with ten engineers, the India team will be ramped up to 50 people by the year end. Close to 50 per cent of the development activity from InterX is expected to be outsourced to Genisys. The InterX BladeRunner product family is aimed at enabling companies leverage the advantage of the evolved Internet or second generation Internet and facilitate access and content distribution through non-PC access devices. Speaking at the briefing InterX group chief executive Mr Philip Crawford said the company was set to introduce the product in the South East Asia market with special focus on the media, life sciences and financial services industry segment. The company was looking at both direct marketing (through Genisys) as well as tying up with hardware vendors for rolling out the product in India Mr Crawford said. InterX is looking at revenues of $15 million from licensing revenues (through direct sales model) in the first year following the launch of its product and was expected to scale up to $45 million next year, he added. According to Genisys Group chairman Mr Ashok J Rabheru the revenues from the partnership with InterX was expected to bring in revenues of $5 million to Genisys in the first year.
