bPolaris defers final decision on proposed ADR float ohPolaris Software Lab Ltd has deferred a decision for finalising details of its proposed American Depository Receipt (ADR) float, which was to be taken up at the board of directors' meeting in early-January. "The issue was earlier slated for discussion in the board of director's meeting held in the second week of January, for taking stock of the company's third quarter results ended December. The overseas float issue did not come up for discussion during the meeting," Mr Arun Jain, chairman and CEO of Polaris told PTI.

Goa announces entrepreneur-friendly incentives to promote IT
The Goa government has announced its policy document to promote information technology (IT), offering venture capital to first generation technocrat-entrepreneurs and incentives and concessions to promote IT software and IT-enabled services. It is also proposed to set up cyber parks and IT habitats in this tourism-oriented state. The state IT minister Mr Ramakant Khalap, who released `Vision Infotech Goa' on Monday in Panaji, said it was aimed at increasing the overall growth of the economy through use of information.

BSNL to launch mobile services in Patna on Jan 26
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd will commercially launch its mobile service, Bharat Mobile, for the first time in the country on January 26 in Patna and Hajipur, the Lok Sabha constituency of Union communication minister, Mr Ram Vilas Paswan. The chief general manager, Bihar telecom circle, Mr R K Bhatia said in Patna on Tuesday that registration would begin on Wednesday and the allotments would be made on a first-come-first-serve basis.Truck Dhina Dhin: Delhi HC asks I&B Ministry, Prasar Bharati to produce affidavit by March 21
The Prasar Bharati on Tuesday placed before the Delhi High Court a programme file related to award of a tele-serial contract to a Mumbai-based company by the then Information & Broadacsting Minister, Mr Pramod Mahajan, allegedly using his influence because his wife and son were directors in the company. A bench comprising Justice Anil Dev Singh and Justice O P Dwivedi, after perusing the records, directed the I&B Ministry and Prasar Bharati to file affidavits by March 21 to a writ alleging that the contract resulted in a loss of Rs 6.5 crore to the government.

HCL Tech in strategic pact with NCR Corporation
HCL Technologies and NCR Corporation on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership to develop new solutions in the customer relationship management, store automation and payment systems sectors. Subject to the terms of the agreement, it is estimated that the deal would be worth $40 million a year over the term.

Spice Telecom launches `Spice Simple' card
Spice Telecom, the largest cellular operator in Karnataka, has announced the launch of Spice Simple prepaid SIM card. The Spice Simple card will be available at a Market Retail Price of Rs 999. Activation fee for the same is Rs 499, while its talk time is worth Rs 500. The card has a validity period of 45 days and has no monthly rental charges.

Modi Enterprises signs MoU with Vancouver Film School
Modi Enterprises on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Vancouver Film School for setting up a 50:50 joint venture (JV) to open a film school, to cash in on the Indian film business boom. To be set up initially in Mumbai, the proposed school will offer courses including classical and 3D Animation and new media.
