Global Tele Q3 net up 111%

Mumbai, Jan. 23 : On the back of a better product mix, higher exports and robust growth in services revenues, Global Tele-systems has clocked a 111 per cent rise in its net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2000. The net profit was Rs 57.07 crore compared to Rs 26.99 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales and services grew to Rs 208 crore (Rs 162 crore). The company has posted a total income of Rs 222.14 crore up from Rs 162.13 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.Much of the growth is from the e-commerce, software and Internet group, which accounted for Rs 140 crore. The engineering services group contributed Rs 68 crore, while interest and other income, which rose six-fold, brought in Rs 14.2 crore. Exports for the nine month period ended December 31, 2000 stood at Rs 195 crore (Rs 84 crore).
