Arthur Andersen sets up business solution centre in Chennai

Chennai : Global consultant, Arthur Andersen, has set up a business solution centre in Chennai with an initial investment of $200,000. Another, $50,000 is expected to be invested in the centre in the near future, said Mr Narayan K Seshadri, country head, business consulting, Arthur Andersen, India. The centre houses technologies like wireless local area network, mini data centre with storage area networks, hand-held devices providing remote access, biometric security solutions like finger printing, etc. Arthur Andersen works with technology providers such as Ariba, Citrix, Compaq, i2, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAS, Siebel, Selectica, Sun Microsystems and Vignette. The effectiveness of these applications can be assessed and experienced through the centre.The consulting major plans to aggressively tap the information technology consulting and solutions opportunities in the Indian market. Its current clients include the Andra Pradesh Electricity Board among others. The company will use its Chennai operations to undertake software development and solutions for the global marketplace. Currently, about 15 consultants are working on developing solutions out of the centre. The number is expected to be scaled up in the near future.
