MTNL Q3 net up 31 per cent to Rs 477 cr
New Delhi, Jan 25: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) announced a 31 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 476.6 crore during October-December 2000 as against Rs 364.1 crore in the same period of the last fiscal. "The company has registered a 30.89 per cent increase in net profit in the third quarter, as compared to the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal, in spite of tariff re-balancing and increase in establishment expenditure," MTNL statement said.The increase in the net profit in the first nine months of 2000-01, went up by 28 per cent compared to the same period last year.(PTI) Copyright © 2001 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
