Pune : BPL Cellular Limited has launched miHearmail, its latest product in wireless communication, which is also the first of its kind product in the market. The new `net in the pocket' concept converges Internet technology with mobile telephony. It enables subscribers to get instant alerts on the mobile phones about their Internet mail, listen to their mail and send replies in their own voice. The recipient will receive the reply as an e-mail with an audio file attachment, with the senders natural voice.The reply can be heard using the multimedia kit of a PC/laptop. Mr Vinay Agarwal, chief operating officer, BPL Mobile said miHearmail unleashes the power of the Internet making mobile phones a far more powerful communication tool. "With miHearmail BPL Mobile subscribers will not have to access their PC for their Internet e-mail. Mails would in turn be made available on their mobile phones," Mr Agarwal said. This product is targeted at people who are on the move or are unable to access the net on the computer.
They will get alerts on the mobile, as an SNA, when new message arrives in their POP3 Internet e-mail account on the BPL portal, mizone.bplmobile.com. They can access e-mail in their accounts in Yahoo!, Satyam, Bplnet, Vsnl and Mantraonline. The company is having an introductory offer and will not be charging any monthly access fee and calls to listen to the e-mails will be complimentary till February 28, 2001. After this the subscriber will be charged mobile to mobile rate as per the subscriber's tariff plan.
