Eastern Software bags Saudi order for `ebizframe'
Kavita Nair
Mumbai : Eastern Software Systems (ESS), the e-business solutions provider has bagged an order worth about Rs 28 lakh for its product ebizframe, the e-commerce enabling tool, from Saudi Arabia's SK Eskay Jaddah, an oil drilling company, at the Nasscom exhibition. Mr Sanjay Agarwala, director ESS said the solution would be implemented, not only in the office but also onsite at the rig. He explains that drilling is an expensive and complex operation which involves management of men working at the rigs, maintenance of expensive equipment, adherance to safety norms and drilling schedules as well as managing variable and fixed costs of the drilling operation and compensation management to employees on the rigs. All this will be taken care of by ebizframe through data communication between multiple rigs which will flow into the head office.Mr Agarwala says "with expensive equipment, inventory has to be controlled and hence the cost of operations reduces." ESS which was funded by Intel and Citibank last year has deployed the investment primarily for their marketing development. The product is available in the Middle East and Africa and plans on targeting countries like USA and Japan. Mr Agarwala added, "with the expansion into these markets we hope to double our revenues by March 2002 to approximately Rs 14 crore". Copyright © 2001 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
