Godrej Soaps consumer division hived off
Godrej Soaps Ltd. has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that the shareholders of the company at a meeting on February 10, have approved the the demerger of the consumer products division of the company, to Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL).The company now plans to file a petition with the High Court, Mumbai for the approval of the scheme.

HM division sale
Hindustan Motor Ltd (HM), has sold off its earthmoving equipment division (including wheel loader plant) to M/s Caterpillar India Pvt Ltd.,on February 9, located at Pondicherry and Tiruvellur near Chennai. Exide auto e-portalExide Industries Ltd. announced their entry into the e-market with the launch of autoexide.com, a portal on automobiles. The portal will offer value-added services, like online auto finance and insurance, servicing and maintenance, car rentals among others.

German reinsurance co ties up with Segwick
Germany-based General Cologne Re is joining hands with Segwick Parekh health management to be a third party administrator, to undertake health insurance in India. This is a second tie-up, after Munich Re-Paramount Healthcare Managment joint venture to undertake health insurance business as a third party partner. Irda is expected to announce guidelines for the TPA by March end.

Indus Portfolio acquires two firms
Indus Portfolio Pvt Ltd has announced acquisition of two companies - Sindhu Cement Works Pvt Ltd and Supreet Trade India Ltd for an undisclosed amount.
