Hyderabad : To syndicate popular cartoon characters like Chacha Chowdary, Channi Chachi, Color Chips (India) Ltd, a player in the 2D, 3D animation and feature syndication, has tied up with Pran Features, the India's oldest syndicate of comics.As per the agreement, Color Chips has acquired the exclusive marketing and distribution rights of cartoon characters created by Pran such as Chaha Chaudary, Biloo, Pinki, Channi Chachi and Raman.
"Color Chips plans to fortify its syndication business to become the largest syndication company in India," Sudhish Rambhotla, managing director of the company said in a press release.
The tie-up with Pran Features, which has characters which are simple and has straight humour, is to build a strong library of internationally renowned cartoon characters which can be featured across various publications in India and abroad, the release said.Prior to this, the company had acquired exclusive ownership rights of 6,000 pages of Anant Pai's personal collection and and entered into an agreement with Corbett Features for marketing and distribution.
