Digikore to make animation films, Web games

Pune : Digikore Studios has set up an animation studio in Pune for making 2D and 3D animation films, Web games and animated virtual cards. Abhishek More, director of Digikore Studios, said his company has already executed its first animation contract for the Karadi Tales series on CD-ROM. Digkore has partnered with Toon Boom Technologies, Canada, to set up the animation production house. "The infrastructure has been designed to facilitate two or more shifts in ink and paint with ten seats of US Animation in the production studio," More said. He plans to have a team of around 450 by November 2001."We will be taking up animation jobs for advertising films, music videos and television," More said. Digikore will be approaching international studios for job work with some help from Toon Boom Technologies. There is scope for getting work sub-contracted from South Korea, Taiwan and Philippines. Digikore will be setting up marketing offices in Singapore and US for tapping the international market, More said.Digikore is part of the Rs 200 crore Growel group of companies. The group's flagship company, Grauer & Weil is into chemicals and engineering while another group company, Bombay Paints, is into marine and industrial paints. The company has made forays into the IT sector with Growel Softech and Digikore Design. Digikore Design focuses on multimedia and CD-ROM development.
