Singapore : Computing giant Hewlett-Packard is likely to finalise anacquisition or two in India in the near future.Without disclosing any details, HP's general manager for its Asia-Pacificsoftware solutions operations Steve Au-Yeung told The Financial Express thattalks were underway and the deal(s) were likely to be inked soon.
HP last week announced its software strategy in Singapore following theacquisition of middleware major Bluestone Software earlier this year. Thesoftware business, which was set up three years ago, accounts for roughly 4per cent of HP's nearly 50 billion revenue.
The announcement was to communicate its refocused software strategy throughits existing OpenView suite and its new Netaction platform that integratesBluestone products with existing HP products and solutions.
According to Mr Au-Yeung, the company's three-vector strategy was a focus onalways-on infrastructure, information appliances and e-services.He said the two flexible and interoperable suites - Netaction and OpenView -would provide business agility and customer assurance.
