WindRiver offers VxWorks in India

Bangalore : The US-based WindRiver, a leading operating systems provider for embedded computers, has introduced VxWorks AE (advanced edition) the real-time operating system and Tornado Tools-3 in the Indian market. Speaking on the occasion, WindRiver director, Asia Pacific, Namiq Kunimoto said this new platform will help the developers meet demanding reliability, availability, serviceability and security requirement in embedded computers. The VxWorks AE and Tornado Tools-3 were targeted at manufacturers building Internet infrastructure equipment and Internet appliances, mission critical defence and aerospace systems and life critical medical products, he added.The products enable 99.999 per cent up time or high availability, a critical requirement for telecom and electronic service providers as well as manufacturers of smart devices such as telecom equipment. According to Mr Kunimoto, the systems will "greatly help the Indian telecom and communication engineers in the development of more reliable systems".
