New Delhi, March 13: The fate of the ambitious Rs 50,000-crore mega chemical project proposed by the chemical ministry continues to be uncertain as the planning commission has questioned the rationale of a private consultant for undertaking the feasibility study.The appointment of a private consultant involving an expenditure of Rs 24 crore has not found favour with the plan body which has questioned the whole rationale of such an expenditure by the ministry, a senior official in the chemicals and fertiliser ministry told The Financial Express.
The Ministry of Fertiliser and Chemicals was to appoint an independent consultant to conduct a feasibility study on the viability of the project concieved last year.
