Ramco Systems in pact with Nortel Networks

Chennai: Chennai-based information technology solutions provider Ramco Systems Ltd (Ramco) has tied up with the global telecommunication major Nortel Networks to provide call centre solutions in the Indian market.The partnership would provide end-to-end solution to call centres, said Mr Suresh Srinivasan, general manager, Ramco Systems while speaking to The Financial Express.

Ramco will provide services such as designing of the centre, deploying of the solution and maintenance of the facility.

Nortel will provide the technology and Ramco would provide the system integration services.

The partnership would enable Ramco to provide Nortel's range of voice products to the Indian market. "The partnership would help in addressing the opportunity thrown open in the

contact centre and convergence niche", he added.

While Ramco officials declined to specify the revenue potential from the agreement, they added there was a huge opportunities and they expect to ramp up there operations in this niche after obtaining significant expertise.Industry sources expect a boom in the contact centre market in India. Many multinationals are setting up call centres in the country to service their global customers. Also, there is a tremendous opportunity for outsourced call centre services.
