Unisphere also plans to open office in Mumbai also in near future.Mr Kanetkar told media persons that the company will work with selective channel partners for selling its product and services in India. Siemens is already a global channel partner of Unisphere and will work in India also. However, the company is set to tie-up with two new channel partner for its Indian operations, said Mr Kanetkar.

DishnetDSL has deployed Unisphere's ERX-700 edge router switch last year and now expanding their current network infrastructure with additional Unisphere edge router to meet increased demand for Internet services, said Mr Kanetkar adding that HCL InfiNet is also using the ERX-700 for both edge and core IP Services. At the edge, HCL is using the ERX for its E1 channel aggregation capabilities. By provisioning the product's optical interfaces, HCL has installed the ERX in the core of its networks using OSPF and BGP-4 protocols, he added.

"With the Internet's broadband subscriber base increasing significantly over the next couple of years, the telecommunication service providers are stepping up the battle among their aggressive competitors. The ability to create and quickly deploy innovative services will be the key differentiating factor among service providers and will help expand their revenue base", said Mr Kanetkar.
