New Delhi, Aug 25: Century Communication Limited, an established media conglomerate will be soon premiering a mega mythological series on the Gayatri Mantra, titled Gayatri Mahima. This is the first time ever that a producer has taken up Gayatri as a subject for a mythological serial.
The series begins on August 24, 2003 and will be aired every Sunday at 1000 hours IST on DD 1.
With the current sway of the niche programming, a mythological like Gayatri Mahima attempts to define the philosophy of the divine Gayatri Mantra of, Righteousness — Knowledge Sadgyan, as it encompasses the essence of the four Vedas.
The script revolves around the origin of the Gayatri Mantra and the universe. It brings forth the power of the highest among all Devas, Brahma and how he drew inspiration from the Gayatri Mantra to form the Universe.
The program will include the tales of Maharishi Vishwamitra to Satyavan and Savitri to Gautam Rishi and how they attained success and salvation through Gayatri.
The star cast boasts of some big television stalwarts like Arun Govil, Dharmesh Tiwari, Pankaj Dheer and popular names like Aman Verma, Surender Pal , Varsha Usgaonker, Renuka Israni and Sheeba.
The program has been produced by P.K. Tewari, MD & Chairman, Century Communicaton Limited. He is also credited with the critically acclaimed film New Delhi Times. The director is Dharmesh Tewari who will also be seen acting in the serial.
According to Tiwari, "Despite the exhaustive research and background work, I still feel overwhelmed with the power of Gayatri Mantra. It is a treasure of knowledge and there is a lot one can learn from it." He added, "Gayatri holds the true essence of spirituality and adds meaning to our lives while bringing peace and happiness to all".
The serial will take the audience through interesting mythological episodes associated with Gayatri. It would encompass the interest of both, youngsters who would like to know more about the relevance of Gayatri Mantra and how it holds true in the present day context, and also elders who would learn more about the powerful mantra and layers of truth hidden within.
